New Board

We've notice a recent influx of active duty personnel  , welcome aboard    Back when I was in (that was just after the Ark  ) the duty section not currently on watch would hang around the Mess Deck to drink coffee, play cards, exchange lies, etc.  We had a pretty tight crew, so this would include Enlisted, Chiefs, Warrants and even some Officers  .  I'd like to reserve this board for AD personnel to exchange whatever; service wide exams, moves, laterals, etc., etc.  Now this is your board, and you can ***** about your CO if you want, but remember, although guests can't get in here any usmilnet member can; so it's up to you    Before we make someone a mod, the Administrators usually get together and mill it around a little; after I bring up the topic, I'll probably be looking for a mod that's an AD member, so until that happens think about if you'd maybe like to volunteer.  Hope you guys enjoy the place and get some positive use out of it too.  And OBTW, thank you for serving

Someone dropped a hint that they enjoyed rate specific boards; we can do that.  Look up under the Mess Deck and you can see that I put up Boatswain's Mate as an example.  If you like this idea, let Joline know and we can put them up as requested or put a bunch up now; if you think the idea sucks, we can go to the club and have a drink instead

I think it is an excellent idea, I just didn't want to throw an idea out there that was so simliar to mil.com. That is the only reason I visit there. Since you have the #1 largest rating up there, go ahead and put my favorite at and #2 largest..... Machinery Technician.

Love the new format!  Even though the 'other place' is too uptight  I had a tought time adjusting to the format here.    Please add HS and lets see if I'm the only pecker checker who made it over.  KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK OVER HERE!  Erik

BTW, the ratings in the "New Guard" are driving me nuts  .  What was the matter with Hospital Corpsman, or Engineman, or Machinist Mate, etc. etc.    Had to go to Google just to find out the exact wording for HS     Just giving you a hard time  , glad to do it  .

You sound like my Dad!  He still likes to reminisce about the “warrant carpenter” he worked with.  I hate to admit it but we have CWO specialties that I don’t understand- OSS, ISM and Lord knows what the MSO warrants are now!

Check the portion of your post I bolded and you will see why changes were necessary......  Wimmens joined the CG and ya' can't very well call a female pecker checker a Corpsman..... 

Machinists Mates and Boiler tenders kinda disappeared when the CG ran out of steam powered ships......
