Some sweet pics a swimmer/photographer took of a drop flight we did a while back.  He was nice enough to hook me up with a cd with a bunch of them on it, and I had no where to put them.  So here they are.  Sorry if they are a little big.

Those "tiny little straps" are called "gunner's belts". They're rated at 10,000 lbs, if I recall properly.

WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...I'm Up for it...

as long as the pilot doesn't pull a sudden nose up...

what's the altitude?

BTW:  has anyone heard thte following:

The NEW lightweight Parachutes they came out with a few years ago are only rated to 185# at 18 ft/Sec...anything over that and it's around 22 ft/sec...considering most aircrew exceed 200# with all their gear on...me thinks there will be lots of broken legs...

Over water this old fart would probably be up for it also.  Would have to have changes though - second chute for excess over 200# and third chute just for the hell of it [in case either 1st or 2nd malfunctioned] yea I know I'd look like a Apollo capcule with the three main chutes comin' down, but screw it I may be old, but I'm not crazy --[yet]

what's the altitude?

Hey, sorry for no replys.  Just got home from four days down south for good ol' Ike.  The alt is usually between 200-500.  But we have gone as low as 50ft.  I took some good pics down in Modile.  Ill see if any were good enough for the forum.

Vee ...  Hammer  You really didn't have to point that out.

Just looking at that photo makes me whoozie.  I can't stand heights.  I don't know how anyone could live in a high-rise apartment or work in something like the Sears tower in Chicago.  Don't mind flying in an airliner but standing there with the ramp door down and the plane on a 36 degree bank ... not me ain't never gonna happen.  That's why I'm a sailor not a flier.

Kyle ....... better you than me bro, here's to you and all of our airdales ......
