Have you ever had one of those days where all the good stuff you've done gets forgotten when you make just the smallest single screw-up?  When nothing seems to go right?

Well I've had one of those days today!  Got lit-up by the BN CSM this morning, ran the office/section by myself for several large chunks of time today, and then got called back into the office because of a clerical error I made two days ago.  The long and short of it is that I bust my butt to go the extra mile for the mechanics (I used to be on that side of it) and am trying to learn a new job on the fly.  Two days ago, I helped one of the Blackhawk mechanics with a part.  I like the guy and do my best to find parts and such for him because he has always treated me with respect and firendship.  Well, I forgot to enter a part he signed out (I *did* sign it out in the hard-copy logbook) a couple days ago, and got called back into the office to explain it.  The -60 mechanic was there too, and denied ever signing out that part!  That made me steaming mad!  I'll take the hit for my oversight, but when someone does me wrong, that really pisses me off!  So right now I wish there was somewhere I could go to get away from everything Army... but I'm deployed, so there's nowhere to go.  At least tomorrow is my day off...

Thanks for reading my vent...

Matt, looking at the bright side of it, you now know the true nature of the character (or more aptly lack thereof) of the man you tried to help out. One person at least that will have to follow the rules/regs to the letter next time he comes asking for something.  Wink

As the old saying goes, "it only takes one aw-sh*t to wipe out a whole bunch of attaboys". You seem like you got a good head on your shoulders; I'm certain your supervisor won't even remember this even happened in a week. Remember this saying too: "it's better to HEAR about something than READ about it". I.e., on your eval.
