Le'me toss this out there.....I heard on the news today that President Obama wants to allow those on unemployment to be able to stay on unemployment and still be able to attend a college or place where they can be retrained in some other job that they can get an education and gain employment. That, on its face sounds pretty well and good. In California your unemployment benefit (hate that word) is based on your last three quarters of employment (don't know what the base is) but with a maximum of $450.00 a week, then add in the additional $25.00 a week from the feds and that amounts to just shy of $2,000.00 a month (Federal taxed only and not taxed at all in the first $2,000.00). Again, all well and good.
That be told....an individual who spends at least the minimum time in the military and is eligible for the G I Bill for college, who has put their ass on the line in Iraq or Afghanistan or just a Coastie out there putting their life in jeopardy to save some stupid civilian in a freekin' boat.....or any military person for that matter...who joined the military to gain the well deserved and hard earned G I Bill......
Well, I guess, my question to all would be; Is this fair?

Personally, I have a problem with Obama's idea. I can see the good that would come from it, but yet, isn't he slapping the face of the dedicated military person who sacrificed and earned that G I Bill? I don't have all the ins and outs of Obama's plan....just like many of his ideas, that's just what they are.....Ideas. There is no background or substance behind it...no REAL information......Is it just me, or is this President kinda vague sometimes

I also have to admit that I am not current with the amount that an individual utilizing the G I Bill is receiving.
