Nice photo's of the gazebo ..looks rustic and relaxing..I am looking for something a little simpler to make since i will be doing all the work myself.

Something like a parking lot of clotheslines to hold some grapes...with some andirondike chairs undernieth. :coffee:

filled in the trench in the backyard where the water pipes where layed..next saturday i,ll do the side.

Looking foward to winter..I love summer for vacations..but since i work mostly outside..winter is also nice.

I also like the sheep ideal..goats like to climb to much..thanks.

I enjoyed Pago Pago. A few of us got acquainted with a village chief at the first bar after we had traded our whites for lava lavas at the police station. We ended up at his village & had a good time. I'm pretty sure we had Cinderella liberty. We were tied up across the harbor from the cannery & after coming aboard from the port side, we all went for a swim from the starboard side right across the waist from the quarterdeck. We didn't find out until after our swim that 6 Japanese fishermen had been eaten by sharks near our location recently (something about all those tuna byproducts attracting great whites).
I still have the lava lava I wore there.

Was it something i said ?

left the backhoe ..out where i could get to it after work and got some dirt to fill in some trenches i had made here at home.

for some reason..even though i place the out going dirt near the hole..before laying the condoint uh plastic pipe ..i
still run out of dirt when it comes time to place it back.

Ok here is something to talk about it looks like the VA is trying hard to get a whole new generation of Vets to be frustrated with them. Many veterans with the promise of the new GI Bill have headed off to school. The new benefits which rivals the GI Bill of WWII was a beacon of hope to many young people, a chance to go to school and not have to hold down a full time job. The VA assured Congress that it was ready, sadly they were not.
Here is an article form the NY Times yesterday, maybe it's time to ask your member of Congress to look into this.

Hate to sound like I'm beating a dead horse, but I think it's time to remove the current Congress, and put in those that adhere to the Constitution and will keep their promises to those that have fought to keep our country free and safe.

Back in the day, I was in the CG educational system..not mongomery but VEAP ..it's been a long time.
Anyways they promised to pay 2 dollars to every onE i saved.
well later..close to the end of my career..as rocky as it was ,i decided to set my goals high..and uh become a truck driver  LMAO

ok..well I checked into it and cdl classes were 3k heck ..i already had 3k of my own money/my part into the program.

so..i called the people incharge of dishing out the educational cash..real nice people..but i did,nt like the answers i was geting..they pay something like 300 dollars to you for every 30 days in class.

the cdl class was only 30 days to begin with  Bang head against wall

so...To make a long story short (to late I know) i cashed in veap and got my money back(without any interest  AARRGGHH)...later around 96 i believe the montgumery gi bill came into effect for the CG that system does NOT allow you to get your cash back..its either use it or lose it.

So i rather wisely(i believe) stayed away from it.

My generation was lead to believe you either go to college or you never get anywhere in life..the same ideal still carrys over through years..yet..there are lots of ed-U-ma-kayed folks out here in the sunshine state and probably your neck of the island..that can't find a job or are bus boys or waitresses and still have to pay back those loans for going to school.

Bill Gates never finish college..and perhaps you will disagree with me..but maybe college is overrated..perhaps tradeschool is ok ..umm better.

Anyways..sorry to bore you ..just trying to contribute to the conversation..i later got my cdl , they need school bus drivers desperately in my county ..and the class was FREE ! ..i just had to pay for the test which is,nt too much more than getting your regular drivers license..oh..and i also had to get a passager endorsement.

no big deal..never drove a schoolbus since taking the class LMAO..i have drove a cement truck(2nd job after leaving CG)..and then for the city (my present job)a garbage truck, knuckle boom truck..a dumptruck..and a roll off.

I needed the lincense to get the job i have now.

funny thing is i usally operate a backhoe or a john deer or a gravely ..no cdl required

Life is funny that way..as i heard on a country song once..if you want to make GOD laugh ..tell him your plans.

As far as the future service personnel go..my daughter talked to a AF recruiter then decided not to join at all. AARRGGHH

My grandson who is now seven i am hoping will join the CG ..it was my best descission..not sure that i would have done anything to different..maybe i would have tried going HS instead of Rm in the beginning..but i may have fail that to and became a ss anyways..oh well

I am not doing bad for a old seacook  ..i only have one bill ..my home which the bank owns 20 thousand of right now.
