Haven't been around much this week -- 4:00 AM Monday morning this area was hit again with what they are saying another 9-10 twisters, in the state.  Seems those bad boys have it in for us- local feeling is, what the April tornadoes missed, Mondays got.  Wife and I were lucky again, the closest one stayed about 1 1/2 miles south of us-our family is fine, and no damage.
Unfortunately a close friends 16 year old daughter was killed.  Mom and Dad were injured along with their son [a scout in one of the units within my district], but they are now out of the hospital, but tomorrow is the funeral for Christy - not looking forward to it.

Bill ..... Wow, sorry to hear the weather is hitting your area so hard.  Glad your immediate family made it through but so sorry to hear your family friend's daughter Christy lost her life in the storm.  Her parents are really going to need the help of their family and friends to get past this terrible loss and get on with their lives.

I know you've all seen tornado pictures before, but to me these are bitter/sweet.  The bitter of course, the the death of someone just starting her life.  The sweet - as district commissioner of this Boy Scout district, on Tuesday putting out the call for volunteers today to assist in clean-up.  Over 300 scouts and their parents showed up.  With another approximately 1800 within the county, it made for some fast calls by officials, getting bus to transportation for workers to houses, keeping individual transportation to a minimum in the hard hit areas.

Some pictures I took while going between areas to see the scouts in action;

1 1/2 blocks from Christy's home,

The families front yard almost cleaned,

The scouts and their families at her place,

Other areas,

House directly across the street,

another area,

We couldn't do the back 'yard' - still had the yellow police tape - don't really understand why.  Notice the washer and dryer, just a minor dent in washer, but both still standing in place, but the entire 2 stories of the house gone, that's the toothpicks still in the backyard.
