Thank  you  for  a  beautiful  and  heartwarming  post.  I  remember  also,  though  slightly  younger  than  you,  how  things  changed.  I  have  carried  throughout  my  life  the  memories  of  those  years  and  of  the  succeeding  ones...Korea...VietNam...Things  that  have  formed  me  and  strengthened  me  throughout  my  life.  I  know  you  feel  the  same.

I  would  like  to  see  us........the grassroots  people ....reawaken  America  to  it's  history  which  has for  too  many  years  been  buried  beneath  the  propaganda  of  liberals.  We  as  a  nation  have  heroes  and  we  must  forever  be  conscious  of  the  sacrifices  and  dedication  which  have  kept  us  the  most  blessed  Nation  on  the  face  of  the  earth.

Thank  you  for  your  Service  and  thank  you  to  ALL  who  have  served  our  country.

Molly

COAST GUARD UNITS IN HAWAII
DECEMBER 7, 1941

Coast Guard vessels in service in Hawaii (all were stationed in Honolulu) were the 327-foot cutter Taney, the 190-foot buoy tender Kukui, two 125-foot patrol craft: Reliance and Tiger, two 78-foot patrol boats and several smaller craft.  At the time of the attack, Taney was tied up at pier six in Honolulu Harbor, Reliance and the unarmed Kukui both lay at pier four and Tiger was on patrol along the western shore of Oahu.  All were performing the normal duties for a peacetime Sunday.

The President was right .... this day will live on forever in the hearts and minds of the American people ... Never Forget - Never Submit

Today would have been my mom's 69th birthday. She was three years old, living in Jamaica, and having a birthday party when this happened. I remember my grandma telling me tales of this day.
