If I have a problem virus (yes, McAfee screwed me), I often download AVG and run it. THEN, I go to trendmicro's site and run their free online scan. I had an instance where AVG said the machine was clean, but trendmicro found some stuff. It was on one of my wife's office computers, which I get to maintain (for free) Sad  I should have charged my daughter for the eight hours I spent removing spyware and viruses!! Shocked

I use Alwil's Avast! and ZoneAlarm.  I was using Comodo's personal firewall but had a problem with the amount of pop-ups it gave me.  Since using ZoneAlarm's free version the pop-ups have decreased significantly.

There are some very good freeware softwares on Snapfiles.com (click on the "freeware" tab at the top).

I keep getting a "Suspicious Website" dialogue box when I move around USMILNET, even though McAfee marks the site green.

Anybody else seeing this annoyance with McAfee??  AARRGGHH

Larry

I just thought of something... could it be that when we click your ISP, that it registers as phishing on your System?

When you first came on, I am sure there were mods doing that!

Anyway, just a thought!

Paul,

You got a point there.   Cool

I haven't had any issues since that first day it happened. Damn snoopy mods!   Wink
