Dave Barker let me know that RVPaulBearer has passed away. I do not know the details. Maybe others here do and would post it.

Lots of us met Paul on mil.com and he became very close to our hearts and a special member of the PTSD Forumily. Please send out prayers for him and for his family.

This cranky old paratrooper, this old friend of mine, this buddy, this comrade on the wandering road of PTSD, is no longer with us in body.

In spirit he shall live forever,, in my memory, in my heart, i shall tell stories of him to my children, so that they may pass it on.

He shall not be forgotten, he has, and shall always be a true hero, in the true definition of the word.

I have raised a glass to you, and stood too, and a slow salute given to the west.

Brother, you were loved, but never will be lost, you live on in our hearts and minds.

Love, always.

Mike

Goodbye Bear.  Those of us who knew you via the Internet and especially the PTSD Websites will remember you as the man who always supported others with words and deeds.  When a member had trouble, Bear was always there.  The tasks of Bear in this world are done with.  Bear could move on with a mission still in progress because the type of work that he did never ends.  It simply remains for someone else to shoulder the burdens that Bear can no longer carry for others.

By what I believe in, Bear can still hear my thoughts.  I speak to you now Bear.  Your deeds in this world will be remembered.  Your presence shall be missed and never forgotten.  Your words shall remain long past the time that they may dissapear from the Websites that you posted on.  Your memories remain in the hearts and the minds of many others in the lives that you reached out and touched with your thoughts.

The remaining family should know that Paul Davis known to us as simply Care Bear shall be remembered for what he was to the rest of us.  We remember the caring and considerate man who was and that he shall be missed.

I never met Bear in person, but I knew him by internet on the PTSD forum.  His posts revealed him to be a good man, a Christian, a patriot.  He offered wisdom, a kindness born in strength, and a comforting word to those who were suffering.  All who knew him will grieve his death, not for his sake but for our own.  Bear is in a better place.  He has ceased his suffering.  MAY THE GOD OF ALL PEACE GRANT YOU REST AND COMFORT IN HIS ARMS.  My prayers go out this hour to his family and all of his friends.

Bear was my friend and dear companion during my darkest years.  His gentleness of spirit, his true gift for posting the exact words of kindness and support when I and others struggled so much was a blessing to each of us who walked with him on milcom's ptsd forum.

Sometimes in life, you meet someone who, through the hardest trials that life can throw at them, become a shining example of just how tribulations can forge an amazing spirit of caring.

That was my Care Bear.

A Vietnam combat vet, a nurturing gentle soul forged from fire, an 82nd Airborne paratrooper, who, in these last years fought ill health quietly and true to his nature, bravely.

I know God in Heaven has opened his arms and RV is home now, at peace, at rest, with those he served with long ago.  Those brave men.  That band of brothers, whose names are listed on The Wall and those who have passed away since it's construction.

It gives me comfort to believe that he and Slammie Poo may cross paths in God's Army.  Two amazingly beautiful souls who graced us with their care for so many of us, may God Bless them richly.

Though one caring voice is now silent here on Earth, his legacy continues on right here at USMILNET, where new forumily members pass that love and support onwards to this generation of troops and younger vets.

Paul Davis honored me with his friendship and care and support.  He humbled me with his tenderness and the burden he felt for today's men and women who serve following 9/11.

He cared so very much.  He was a mentor, a role model, and my own personal hero.

I love you, RV.  You will never be forgotten in our home and hearts.  Never.

Ah geez.....  Cry Cry Cry

MOM  (he called me that)

Sorry to hear about this. I never knew him personally. RIP Flag Salute

However, for some reason I thought paul was preachermedic, so my heart isn't racing as fast anymore now!!
