CPUs don't "beep", Squidnovio.......  ROTF ROTF ROTF ROTF

See my reply elsewhere's.  Wink

Of course, you could always send it to me and I could fix it for you. It'll probably cost around $60 bucks shipping for both ways. I'll fix it for free.

Thanks fer the help & the offer...but if I hafta,...I'm goina F-Disk this whore my own self an' then re-load what ever I have on the recovery disks & flash drive...
I don't have no bank data or anythin' I wouldn't be able ta live without..so I may go fer it if I gotta..

If I do the HD format, will I be able to get the CPU ta' recognize the recovery disks just by stuffin' em' in the drive?

Gawd hep' me... Roll Eyes

(The little yeller triangle in the task bar of icons on the bottom right is flashin'..an' when it balloons up into a virus or spyware infection alert, (every minit or so) it makes a noise like a beep...)

I'm using AVG for virus protection
http://free.grisoft.com/
the free version. A couple ISP's told me its as good as the costly better known versions.

Also, for spyware, I use Ad Aware SE, another free-ware.

Also, find in your browser where you can deleat your history and cookies. AdAware will do this for you, but its good to get into the habbit of deleating cookies regularly anyway. Cookies 'call' the spam websites and cause the noxious popups.

Well, I've got a 70-page ruled notebook that I use as a home PC trouble log. Some habits die hard, sigh, but anyway...

....I ran afoul of a "smitFraud (AKA Trojan.desktophijack.C) infection almost two years ago. After much casting about and gnashing my teeth, I found great help at:

www.aumha.net/index.php

They gave me a three-page, specific attack cookbook and away I went. Actions were successful. Those forums have super-geeks, and I mean that in a great way. They've helped me with some minor problems too.   I'm Not Worthy!

Not sure if your problem can be solved, but they're a great resource to have in your Favorites.

Best regards,

Larry
